The Wind in the Willows

10 December

– 14 December 2019

By Kenneth Grahame adapted for the stage by Alan Bennett

This ingenious adaptation of the classic children's novel is a contemporary slant on the adventures of Badger, Rat, Mole and Toad of Toad Hall.

With the arrival of spring and fine weather outside, the good-natured Mole loses patience with spring, leaves his underground home and ventures up to the riverbank. Here he  meets and becomes friends with 'Ratty', who takes him for a ride in his boat and teaches him the ways of the river. One summer's day they pay a visit to Toad Hall where they meet and are befriended by Toad a wealthy, jovial and kind-hearted  soul whose weakness for the latest fads and crazes leads to the trio embarking on a series of madcap adventures.

Reviews

This was a charming production, full of energy and good humour. It brought welcome warmth to a bleak December evening.
